In my second year I did a project focused around ideas of routines and personal habits. I explore this by creating a short animation of hand drawn oil pastels exploring my own morning routine. This led to me exploring how lipstick is part of my routine. It is something that I carry with me daily apply daily and I don’t really think about it, which then evolved into art that explores my relationships with beauty  standards and how they have effected me. This manifested in an interest with lipstick.

This Exploration took the form of sculpture as well as a performance piece involving the 4 foot lipstick sculpture I made. I carried it round with me whilst in involving myself in daily tasks.

As well as the sculpture and performance piece, I created a painting based off of my first ever recorded interaction with Beauty products: a photo from when I was a toddler and I broke into my mother‘s make up bag. I re-created this moment with paint as well as using the original lipstick from the photo as the finishing touch of the lipstick on the walls in the painting.
